Yeah Dooley!

Get in to it!

First week’s the roughest but it gets “easier”.  It always helps me to roar and/ or yell “I’m an animal!”…just sayin.

First Post - Fit Test - Dooley

I seriously doubt anyone checks this anymore, but I determined today to be a good opportunity to try to start the insanity program. If you don’t remember I broke my ankle earlier this year right about the time that everyone else was starting. So without any hesitations of my low numbers, here’s my results from the first fit test:

Switch Kicks - 36

Power Jacks - 34

Power Knees - 42

Power Jumps - 30

Globe Jumps - 5

Suicides - 10

Push Up Jacks - 13

Low Plank Oblique - 34

Definitely hope to see better results on my next fit test.

Crossfit-Teresa

Hey!!!  I haven’t posted anything about Crossfit because I figured no one was reading this anymore…but I will make a post for Ricky.

Crossfit is fucking insane. It seriously puts in home INSANITY workouts to shame.

Day 1 of Cross fit was:

8 set of the following, as many as you could in 20 seconds..then record the lowest number to hopefully beat that number later on.

-Push Ups

-Squats

-Wall Balls

-Crunches

-Jumping Pull Ups

- and something else I have forgotten

Day 2, Day 3, Day 4, and Day 5 have been a blur.

Here is what I remember doing:

21-15-9 of each Jumping Pull Ups and these crazy squats you do with a huge barbell  (I did all 6 in 4:21 minutes)

15 kettle bells, 5 ring rows, and 10 push ups: as many as we could in 20 minutes (I did 9 rounds….that’s 90 push ups!!)

10-10-10 of each 3 rounds: Burpees, Squats with giant barbell, and Jumping Pulls up…followed by an intense 10 minutes of trying to do double unders

I am blanking on the other one..I’m assuming it involved me wanting to puke and sweating gallons. Please, note that all these workouts are started with a run and an insane warm, but that kicks my ass royally.

I do love Crossfit though, you should all come take at least one class with me!

ricky - hello? anyone out there?……HONK!

Thanks Teresa!

So I’ve started in on the “Tough Mudder” training Monday, Wednesday and Fridays.  I was gonna try and do weight training on Tuesdays and Thursday but the TM training is all upper body as well as running.  Which meeeeaaannnsss….I’m doing INSANITY on those days instead!  I figure this is better for my cardio anyway.  Saturdays I’m doing altitude training in the foot hills and mountains.  Basically thats just more running but uphill.

“I tried to get out but INSANITY just pulled me back in.”  - me

ricky - another step and i’m gone

final week of Insanity -

I have to say that this was the hardest week of the entire 60 days.  It was like having senioritis: it felt like a chore to even get myself motivated.  But I didn’t give up.  The insanity dragon has been slain!  Judo Chop!  I came to kick ass and chew bubble gum and i was all out of bubble gum.  Ker-CHA!

I didn’t shoot pics for every fit test.  These picture represent the 1st, 2nd and final fit tests:

Here are my fit test results:

Switch Kicks - 80—————> 85————>102————<86———->105

 Power Jacks - 63—————-> 78———<61—————>80———->80

Power Knees - 80—————> 103———->130———->130———->140

Power Jumps - 60————-< 52————->60————->70———->82

Globe Jumps - 7—————-> 9————->12————->12————->13

Suicide Jumps - 14————-> 17————>17————->20————>22

Push-Up Jacks - 25————> 34————>35————-<34————>38

Low Plank Oblique - 53———>70————>73————-<53———>84

Hi-YAH!  Ker-CHA!  Juda-CHOP!  Guitar-SOLO!

I’m finally happy with all my fit results.  It was worth the pain!  I am also very happy with the changes in my body over the last 60 days of getting my ass kicked.  I didn’t weigh or measure myself before any of this.  The basis of my success was purely visual and just based on the pictures you can see the difference!  I don’t know who’s still out there(hello? anyone?…is this thing on?…..ahem) but don’t give up!  Dig Deeper!  Maintain!  Ker-Cha!

60 days of Insanity and I don’t know life without pain and sweat.  I don’t want to lose all that I’ve busted my ass so hard for.  Knowudahmean? Soooo I’m going to continue by training for Tough Mudder, according to their work out routine, about 3 days a week, that includes running and strength.  2 days a week I’m gonna work the INSANITY Upper Body Weight training and 1 day a week I gonna do altitude training in the mountains and foothills.  Sticking with the 6 days of punishment and glory a week will make it easier for me to run through walls and kick cars.

I still have a dream to bounce change off my ass and show off a six pack with out flexing.  I’m not there yet and that’s why I’m sayin’, Insanity was just the beginning!  Now I gotta maintain this GQ bod of mine.  ha.  Its like winning a championship belt: Getting it is the easy part, defending it is the true challenge.  I’m not gonna give up on this cause the moment I start gettin’ lazy its gonna start going away: FUCK THAT!

When the apocalypse comes Teresa and I are gonna squat punch the fuck out of it!

ricky - ha ha!

Teresa I’ll have to check out this “The Hip Hop Abs” to confirm these surprising allegations against someone as INSANE as Shaun T.

Good luck with the CrossFit! Its probably going to be more insane than INSANITY.  I look forward to your Ass-Kicking Progress!

CrossFit is something I’d like to get into as well but its soo pricey.  I imagine you’ll be in pretty good shape going into it and when people ask you about working out you can be all, “You know Shaun T?  ”INSANITY” Shaun T not “Hip Hop Abs” Shaun T.  No?  Oh.  Well I trained privately with him.  He’s kind of a big deal.”

Yeah! You Bastards!

He’s so gay. -Teresa

I normally don’t call people gay unless I know for a fact they are gay..but Goddamn!! Shaun T in Hip Hop Abs is a whole different person than he was in INSANITY. I am so glad I did INSANITY first without seeing Hip Hop Abs.

It’s not the “Dig Deep” and “I’m not trying to kill you!” Shaun T we all came to know and love. This Shaun T is lovable, but not hardcore make you sweat lovable. He flips is wrist, swings his nonexistent hair, and say things like “Go Girl” and “Work It, Work It” He’s like a super buff black Richard Simmons, except he has raver pants not glittery shorts……

I have only been doing Hip Hop Abs for 3 days and all ready I can tell a difference.IN MY SHOULDERS!!!  I guess I misread the title and this is Hip Hop make your shoulders burn because you have no rhythm and can’t pulse your hips and shoulders at the same time without looking like you are humping the air. I basically stand in my living room and hump the air. I hope the neighbors enjoy it.

As of now I will stick with it..6 days a week for 4 weeks and around 25 minutes a day, no big deal. I will keep you all posted.

I do have big news though!!! Drum roll please!!!!!!! My friend Leslie (she finished INSANITY tonight) are starting CrossFit next week!! AHHHHHHHHH. I’m seriously so nervous I want to puke. I will defiantly be keeping you all updated on that and Leslie will provide the photos.

Once again…Congrats Ricky on finishing you are a true warrior.

To all the rest of you bastards..I know you’re working out..tell us about IT!

ricky - the beginning of the end

the last week.

yesterday was the first work out where i was just not feeling it.  I made it thru but i felt sluggish and relatively pukey the entire time.  I didn’t push myself as hard as I have but I definitely sweated more than ever.  I was blinded a couple times like, “Gaaahh!” and “Nyaaah!”

I am getting burnt out on this workout but i’m glad I’m feeling this way at the end rather than earlier.  I’m looking forward to changing it up after this week.

5 days to go.

ricky - 4th Fit Test

Week 7 - day 1: Fit Test/ Max Interval Circuit

The Fit Test and then a Max workout is still the worst idea ever.  My arms felt like balloons going into the Interval Circuit and I wanted to give up sooo bad.  But I didn’t!  I pushed through and dug deep!  I grabbed Pain by its big fat head and said “I’m not going to jail for you or anybody!”

Really.

Fit Test 4 results: (ahem)

For some reason this was the most painful Fit Test.  In doing the Low Plank Obliques my left hip kept popping out!  It was no bueno:(  I want my last fit test to be better than this with improvements on every line.  Who’s with me?!
